Why The Spectrum Matters
Two bulbs can look identical on a shelf and produce meaningfully different light in your home. The difference lives in the spectrum. Here's what that means, and how CleanWhite® gets it right.
It Starts With The Spectrum
Modern LED bulbs start with a concentrated blue spike in the 440–460nm range. A phosphor-conversion process then attempts to broaden that into white light, but the spike remains, embedded in the output. It's not a deliberate design choice. It's just how the technology works.
The intensity and placement of that spike is the problem. It’s the reason a 5000K LED can feel clinical and uncomfortable in a way that natural daylight at the same color temperature does not.
The visible spectrum runs from roughly 380nm at the violet edge to 700nm at the deep red end. The upper portion of that range, between 400–500nm, is what scientists call High Energy Visible light, or HEV. The human eye is not equally sensitive across that range, and that difference matters.
Standard LEDs concentrate output in the 440–460nm band, where the eye is highly responsive, making that spike feel harsh and visually fatiguing. Natural light distributes energy gradually across the full spectrum without a single dominant concentration in that sensitive range.
Spectral Re-engineering
CleanWhite® technology re-engineers the spectral peak away from the 440–460nm range to approximately 405nm, shifting it to the violet boundary of visible light, where short-wavelength intensity is lower and visual impact is reduced.
Most alternative approaches reduce blue-range output by filtering or limiting it, forcing the light toward amber and orange tones. CleanWhite® doesn't filter. It re-engineers. The peak is moved, not removed.

The NoBlu A19 is available in three independent color temperatures. At cooler temperatures — where standard LEDs produce their most intense blue-range output — CleanWhite® holds a clean, balanced spectrum instead of retreating to amber.
Anchors a neutral white across kitchens, studios, and living spaces.
Where standard LEDs push hardest into blue, CleanWhite holds steady.
Full daylight-range output with a clean, balanced spectrum.
Every NoBlu product is built around CleanWhite® LED chips independently tested to IEC 62471 standards and certified at Risk Group 0, the highest light safety rating available.
Independent spectral analysis confirming CleanWhite® peak placement at approximately 405nm is available for every SKU.
